Forum Rules
Thank you for taking part in the Online Bystander Intervention Forum. Below is a complete list of the rules of the Forum. If you are not sure about something you wish to write, or are concerned about someone else's behaviour, please contact the forum moderator (see below) in the first instance. You can also report any posts that you feel are inappropriate and we will remove them. Do not attempt to take on people if they are not complying with the rules.

What to do:
- Respond to the questions (threads) that are already present. Do not start new threads unless you have gained permission from the moderator first (otherwise these will be deleted).
- If someone else has written what you wanted to say, respond to them and say WHY you agree with them.
- If you disagree with someone else's comments, write that you disagree with them and state WHY.
- Write as much or as little as you want. Don't be afraid to share. There are probably others who are thinking the same thing also.
- Stay on topic. It is easy to get side-tracked and go off topic.
- If someone is posting comments that you think are unkind, or inappropriate, report the post in question or contact the moderator. Do not take them on, as this will be unproductive for the forum.
What not to do:
- Do not enter into disagreements with people, simply state your case and reasons as to why you hold that opinion.
- Do not get personal with other people if you disagree with them, simply address their argument - not the person.
- Do not attempt to dispense medical advice to others. Remember that while other people's experiences may be helpful, they are not a substitute for advice from health professionals.
- Do not share personal information (such as phone numbers) with other members. Remember, this information is published on the internet and third parties may find this information.
- Any discussion outside of the allocated topics will be deleted. This includes any self-promotion, links to blogs or Facebook pages, advertising.
- No links will be allowed on the forum, with the only exception being links to websites related to the topic being discussed. (These need to be approved by the moderator first.)
- Any misuse of the forum will result in that person being blocked from participating. This includes any abusive language or attempts to hurt other people or belittle their opinion.
