A big thank you to all of our student participants, Locals Programme staff and students, and Residential College staff for their support and contributions to the OWIUS 2014 mental well-being study!  We have now closed the data collection phase and are analysing the data.  We hope to be able to provide you with some key findings soon.  We are drawing the five winners of the raffle this week, so keep an eye on your Otago student email inbox to find out if you are one of the lucky winners. Wishing you much success for your examinations and a happy end to your academic year.

Best wishes,

The OWIUS Team

Online Therapies

7/10/2014

For those who struggle with having poor mental well-being, feeling overly anxious, or simply wanting to learn some techniques to boost emotional/mental well-being, there are now freely available a number of online therapies that you can access. These therapies are based on proven techniques that counsellors/psychologists use in their treatment, except that they are delivered online. There is a growing evidence-base to support the use of these online therapies.

Please find below a short list of therapies to consider:

Cognitive Behavioual Therapy (CBT)

MoodGYM - Learn cognitive behaviour therapy skills for preventing and coping with depression

Problem Solving Therapy (PST) / Coping Strategies
