Referring People onto Health Services

Picture

*The At Risk Program talks about referring people to the "Counselling Center", but the Dunedin equivalent is Student Health Services.
  • Student Health Services      Free phone 0800 479 821
Tel 479 8212 or 8212 if calling from within the University
Refer Students there, or alternatively:
  • To their own GP (if they have one).
  • For mental health emergencies (if someone feels unsafe) contact the Emergency Psychiatric Service at the Dunedin Public Hospital. This service is available 24 hours a day.     Tel 474 0999
Contact your Head of College if you don't know what to do. *Each College may have different policies about how situations involving students well-being are managed. In most cases, your College Head will want to be notified in the first instance when you are concerned for people and/or refer them onto health services.
